Narcissus and Echo

There was once a man named Narcissus. He had many girls that loved him but he never returned their love. So one day a nymph named Echo saw him hunting and she immediately fell in love with him. She tried to embrace him, but he just pushed her away. Echo then spent the rest of her life heart broken until only her voice remained. Narcissus also had another admirer named Ameinius. He was always trying to get Narcissus attention. Narcissus sent him a sword telling him to prove his love. Ameinius plunged the dagger into his heart committing suicide to prove his love. He begged the gods to punish Narcissus and the god Artemis heard his plea. She made Narcissus fall in love with himself. So when Narcissus looked into the water he fell in love with his reflection. He became depressed he could not hold his reflection. He ended up plunging a dagger into his heart, calling out a last goodbye to his reflection.
